Version 3 is a gaming app for a children, it is not an application for the work! Shame on you, x-rite! Goodbye.
Very bad update. Without any kind of alert, this app delete your previous my pantone, bought it years ago. Log says that users of previous versions should go in settings and click restore purchases. Pity that it doesnt work at all. Silly app, dont update if you dont want to pay for an annual subscribe. Developers of the app: restore our previous purchases!
I paied 15€ for the app and now you limited the usage and you ask me to pay 7€ month when a paper version of Pantone colours costs just 60€?! Throw the app in the trashbin
Having a lot of fun with this app. The colors are beautiful and the sharing from my Instagram is a winner. Ill pay when I need the cmyk on my next project. For now just loving this app.
Pantone took a decent app and ruined completely. Took away the traditional book fans and now want to charge you a monthly fee to use the garbage app. I view they just havent raked in enough profits from designers and feel they need more. Greed ruined this app.
First off, Kudos to PANTONE for hearing the long-time app users and giving us the old color libraries. Thanks for listening. As it stands, Studio is a step up from the old app. Its a fresh, new UI with some nice new prototyping previews. Color management is easier, and the app feels more personalizable than before. All that said, I dont feel like the current payment model fits with the amount of content with the app. PANTONE is a color reference guide and I dont see them adding enough substantial content frequently enough to warrant a CC-esque subscription strategy. Id love to hear more from PANTONE as to why theyve gone with a subscription model, and what their reasoning is behind the change before I can recommend it more. PANTONEs great, and this is still the cheapest way of accessing the system. But, I just dont see the changes from MyPANTONE to Studio as substantial enough to warrant the change in cost.
I purchased the previous MyPantone app only to get dumped due to the ever increasing trend of subscriptions. Nothing in the new version is REALLY an improvement over the previous, they just want your money.
I spent quite a bit of time filling out surveys for the development of this new app. For what I needed, the last app worked fine. I much preferred the interface of the last app. I dont need it to look quite as chic and the text be as minuscule and fine as it is now. No Bueno, Pantone.
You stole my books that I paid for! This is BS! Third time Im typing this review because you keep finding excuses to not post it. This app should get 0 stars but you force me to give it 1 star. Cheesy. I paid $10, wheres my books? Give me my money back! Crooks!
The capabilities of this app are fantastic, however its not the most user friendly. It does take some time to discover all the features. Pantones quick response and fix in regards to all the initial feedback was a good decision and much appreciated. Would be thrilled with an option to apply palettes to custom artwork in addition to the few templates offered under the Inspiration Category. Overall I am happy with the app and will look forward to future improvements as well.
I really appreciate the support and loyalty that Pantone has shown by restoring my previous purchase. After following the instructions to restore the didnt work, I emailed tech support and the instructions that they sent did work for me. Now I am a little concerned that having been grandfathered in to my previous ap version will exclude me from future updates and such, as colors are added and new changes are made. But I also get that having spent $9.99 and expecting a lifetime of Pantone updates might not be realistic or fair. However, when it comes to aps, I dont think Id pay for a subscription to something that Id rather spend money on for a physical product, especially when dealing with the technical aspects of color. Thats just the nature of my business. I dont think downgrading the ap because of this technical oversight is fair though. My Pantone ap is one of my most heavily used aps. But once Im forced to subscribe, in all honestly I probably wont choose to.
We plan party themes and room decor as a family using this. Love the design and usability. Check out the appearance part that shows how a color looks on different fabrics and papers. My family loves discovering color through this app.
suggestion: we can use our photos in the studio with the colors created by our photos
Such a great app. Love the Pantone color articles and seeing colors in a palette and on different fabrics. Both are really helpful for me, as I work primarily with one brand color and am always trying to create new color combinations to keep it fresh and on trend, and also manufacture the color on many type of materials. Definitely worth $60 a year, especially since my company offered to reimburse me.
This app has a few really cool features that Id like to take advantage of more, but theres a couple of bugs in those features. You can use photos to generate color palettes and the palette generator typically produces more harmonious results than other apps. Whats more is the way that you can use much more than your locally stored images, you can connect social media networks. The best part is that you are supposed to be able to connect to Pinterest, which is an awesome idea because I often use that to source inspiration, as do many creatives, but it doesnt seem to work. Please fix this. Also, if tumblr could be added to this feature it would be primo. Thanks.
I already paid for myPantone and no we must subscribe to Pantone Studio to get our palettes? Youre ripping off a lot of previous customers and thats not the way to run a business.
This update makes the app so much better than the old one! FYI, if you previously purchased the original app, you dont have to pay to use the new one. I was so upset at first, but when I contacted Pantone about it they explained how to restore my access. If you paid for MyPantone & this new one is giving you the business about having to pay & subscribe, dont get mad... Just email Pantone and theyll sort it out for you. All I had to do was agree to the free trial period, then quit & reopen the app. Immediately afterward it recognized my previous purchase, then I was able to cancel the subscription but keep my access to all functions.
The new App isnt functional and simple isnt easy to understand. The prior app was a useful tool, this version which tries to get you to pay an annual fee simply isnt colorful or useful. Disappointed
